System Overview
The SPU Scopus Publication System (SPS) is a comprehensive research publication database and management platform developed to support and enhance the operational, analytical, and strategic workflows of academic publication services. Beyond service management, SPS functions as an integrated research information system that consolidates researcher identity data and publication records from internationally recognized academic databases.
Research Information System and Data Integration
The system is designed to systematically collect, store, and manage researcher identifiers, including Scopus Author ID, ORCID, and Web of Science ResearcherID, together with complete bibliographic records of articles indexed in the Scopus database. This integration enables accurate tracking of individual and institutional research output, reduces data redundancy, and supports reliable performance evaluation and reporting.
Core System Functions
Through the SPS platform, users are able to:
Submit and manage manuscripts for publication support services
Monitor service progress and publication status in real time
View consolidated researcher profiles and publication histories linked to global indexing systems
System Architecture and Operational Efficiency
The SPS architecture is developed to enhance transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency, while also supporting data-driven decision-making for research management and strategic planning at the institutional level.
Scalability and Institutional Deployment
Importantly, the SPU Scopus Publication System is designed as a scalable and transferable database solution. The system can be licensed or franchised to other universities and research institutions, enabling partner organizations to adapt and further develop the platform for:
Managing their own Scopus-indexed publication records
Tracking institutional research performance
Supporting faculty and graduate student publication activities
Building centralized databases for Scopus-published journals and articles
Collaborative and Franchising Capability
This franchising capability positions SPS not only as an internal support tool for Sripatum University, but also as a collaborative academic infrastructure that contributes to the broader development of research management systems across higher education institutions.
Future Launch: SPS Powered by SPU-SCOPUS AI
Powered by SPU-SCOPUS AI, the SPS integrates an artificial intelligence–based expert system specifically developed to identify the most appropriate journals indexed in the Scopus database. This AI-driven capability enhances the system’s journal identification, recommendation accuracy, and strategic publication support, positioning SPS not only as an internal support tool for Sripatum University, but also as a next-generation, collaborative academic infrastructure that contributes to the advancement of research management systems across higher education institutions.
